About us

Lucia, tell me something about your sister
“Caterina runs fast. With a degree in Classical Literature in her pocket, she began traveling around Europe thanks to a master’s in Cultural Heritage Management. UNESCO in Paris, then Rome with the CNR. She juggled work and projects until 2016, when—alongside plans to renovate the family estate belonging to her mother and grandmother Albina—came the nine months that change a life. She left everything and came back here. Sometimes she misses the creative buzz of the metropolis, but maybe she has found her rhythm again here, and she often says: “In fifteen minutes I can be anywhere. In Rome, I’d just get to the first traffic light…”
Alright Caterina, now it’s your turn—tell me about Lucia.
“If you’re looking for the last dance school still open in the center of Perugia, run by a ballerina who’s also an engineer—it’s not luck, you’ve found my sister. When she’s actually here, of course. What can I say? Lucia is grace and discipline. Without her, my projects certainly wouldn’t have the same smile—and probably wouldn’t have become reality at all.”

Albina and Margherita
Grandma Albina had a gift in her hands. In the 1940s, she was one of the most respected seamstresses in town. Yet success didn’t spare her from the tragedies of war: her husband—our grandfather—was sent to the front and never returned home. So Grandma decided to leave Cortona and return to the mountain home of her childhood, along with Margherita, her little girl—our mother. It was within those very walls that she opened her atelier. In just a few months, it became a warm and reliable point of reference—for the young women learning the art of sewing, the village doctor, and the local schoolteacher, all of whom found hospitality in her home.
Over the years, Albina continued working and teaching, and alongside the mountain community’s men, she personally oversaw the vineyards, the olive grove, and the family vegetable garden. Slowly, together, she and our mother united all the properties in the village—what is now our organic farmhouse, Alba Etrusca.
