We are a mountain of ideas and a drive to make things happen

We respond to the abandonment of the land and the mountains with a thirst for peace and beauty—the very force that brought us up here.
We realized we were not alone. Others, like us, were trying to give back—to themselves, to their families, and to their land—that same vital energy they once received as children: in the rustling of leaves, the tickle of grass under their feet, and the changing colors of the seasons.

Together with Annalisa, Marco, and many others, we decided to connect people inspired by a deep bond with the mountains and a desire to promote their economic, social, ecological, and cultural value.

Thanks to a grant promoted by the Region of Tuscany for the creation of community cooperatives, this vision took shape.
Today, La Montagna Cortonese is no longer just a physical place—it has become a shared space for action, bringing together public institutions, private enterprises, and citizens eager to explore new collaborative approaches to local development.

Social farming

We respond to the abandonment of the land and the mountains with the thirst for peace and beauty that brought us up here.
We realized we were not alone—others, too, were trying to give back to themselves, to their families, and to their land the same vital energy they had once received, perhaps as children, to the rhythm of rustling leaves, the tickle of grass beneath their feet, and the ever-changing colors of the seasons.

Ceramic Studio, Events, and Creative Coworking

Tuscan Clay Lab

The land wasn’t enough—we got it into our heads to do something with ceramics too.
Tuscan Clay Lab is the first ceramic school in Cortona. Courses are offered in Italian and English, and can also be translated into French, Greek, and Spanish.

The studio also hosts a variety of cultural events in collaboration with artists, writers, musicians, and more.
And the place itself is amazing—right in the heart of Cortona, just a stone’s throw from the MAEC Museum and the Teatro Signorelli. Because sure, mountain life is great—but it’s also nice to take a stroll through town every now and then…

We envisioned our Bio Agriturismo as a welcoming refuge—sheltered not only from noise, but also from inner noise.
Here, we host both young and older guests who want to share their time and stories, roll up their sleeves, and get their hands in the soil to understand how our olive oil is made, how medicinal herbs are grown, and what it takes to cultivate a vineyard in the mountains.

Alongside them, we welcome professionals from around the world—people who need nothing more than a laptop and a good internet connection to work, while reconnecting with something that’s hard to define… but that many of us feel we’ve lost.
